Joey was diagnosed with a brain tumour at the age of 5. Instead of learning ABCs and 123s, he learned about MRIs and PICUs. A few days after starting his journey into Kindergarten, Joey was suddenly faced with a new journey into the world of cancer.

For the past 2.5 years, our lives have been shaped by hospital rooms, surgeries, treatments, and long dark days we never imagined we’d face with our child. Joey endured 6 surgeries, 72 rounds of chemo, countless tests and emergency room visits. After completing those 72 treatments we had hoped his fight was finally over. Instead,

Joey has had to begin another round of treatment—once again, he has met it with a strength that leaves us in awe. Through every setback, Joey continues to face each day with quiet bravery and determination. He has an amazing strength and resilience, no matter how hard things are, he finds a way to keep smiling and laughing, Joey is our hero!
