Thank you to everyone involved. This year the RCMP K Division Headshave and Cut-a-thon raised $45,000 for our kids!
Special thank you to the organizers and all those who cut their hair for such a wonderful cause.
What will the day look like? Children will arrive by 11:00 for registration, photos and pizza lunch (or earlier if you have a scheduled hair cut). At 12:00 the children will assist in shaving heads, followed by an official “swearing in” ceremony when they become “Mounties for the Day”. Children will then go to their postings (i.e. dog section, telecoms operator, etc), followed by a short reception in the cafeteria and a visit to the RCMP Vets Canteen. Child cancer survivors, their siblings, and their parents are all welcome to participate in these events. The day concludes at approximately 2:30 pm.
Cut a thon and Head Shave: From 8:00 - 12:00 many award winning salons will be donating their time to provide haircuts to anyone who wishes to make a donation to the Kids with Cancer Society. Family members and friends can take advantage of this wonderful opportunity ~ spread the word. You must sign up for a ½ hour appointment for a hair cut or for the head shave through Karen Pasay.
“Mountie for a Day”: Is an exciting opportunity for the entire family. Kids will be dressed up in an RCMP t-shirt and ball cap, will have their photo taken with other Mounties and will receive an official ‘posting’ for the day. Parents, this is a great photo opportunity so bring your camera!
Registration: You must pre-register for ALL events by February 12th. Those kids registering by Feb 1st will receive an RCMP T-shirt, but due to ordering deadlines others unfortunately will not:
- Professional haircuts (cut-a-thon)
- Head Shave
- Mountie For A Day
How do I register: As each person requires a security badge, PHOTO ID MANDATORY (for adults). We are unable to accept walk-in registrations so pre-registration for ALL events is required. We also need to know the age of your child and T-shirt size in advance.
