Respite Fund
Funds are made available to families to use in a manner that will assist their families during a very difficult time. Funds may be used for respite or entertainment purposes. Providing the family with an outlet is essential during this time so that they may continue to focus on providing positive support and attention to their dying child.
Support Program
Families have expressed a feeling of isolation and abandonment once their child has passed away. They continue to seek support from staff and peers who they believe are the only ones that can understand them in their time of need. The loss of a child is difficult to deal with yet there is no where to go. In an effort to assist these families, and provide them with the coping skills to rebuild their lives, support meetings, led by a member of the psychosocial team are held throughout the year.
A Time to Remember
This is an initiative aimed at providing bereaved families with an opportunity to remember their child in a safe and supportive environment. The annual event will be a celebration of their child’s life and a reminder that they are not forgotten.
