For many years the Kids with Cancer Society had dreamed of providing a facility in close proximity to the hospital, a place where families can gain support and information. In 2009, that dream became a reality with a $500,000.00 donation from the Dave Lede Family Charitable Foundation and a matching grant from the Alberta Lottery Fund’s Major Community Facilities Program.

The Dave Lede Family Foundation acknowledged the critical services to children with cancer and their families stating that the Kids with Cancer Society had demonstrated a need for an increased facility to more effectively provide programs and services.

Our sincere thanks to the Dave Lede Family Foundation and Mr. Bob Walker, of Ledcor Construction, for believing in our Society and for providing such a wonderful gift to our children and their families.


The Kids with Cancer Society House is located in Edmonton at 11135 – 84 Avenue just steps away from the University of Alberta Hospital. The KWCS House offers a home-like environment for families to relax in, connect with other families and access support programs.

The staff and volunteers of the Kid with Cancer Society would like to extend an invitation to all KWCS families to stop by and help make the house a home. Drop in for a cup of coffee and lunch with another family in treatment; relax and watch a movie or play a board game in one of our private family rooms; reserve a room to celebrate a milestone with friends and family; or come round for play-time between appointments and during passes.

The KWCS House is open Monday – Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. If you have a special request to use the house outside of opening hours, please call the office 780-496-2549.
