KWCS Accommodations Project
Families and Friends!
We are so excited to announce the Kids with Cancer Society Family Accommodations Project—Papa Ken’s House!
The Society will be renovating an already purchased property to provide short-term accommodations for families coming to Edmonton for treatment and follow-up. Longer-term accommodations will continue to be provided by our partner organization, Ronald McDonald House.
We are so grateful to our lead donor Paddy Webb, along with two major donors the Dave Lede Family Charitable Foundation and Qualico.
We would also like to thank Mike and Gloria Lovsin and Bruce Hagstrom. The Lovsin family has made a gift to “Maria’s Kitchen” in honour of their daughter who is a childhood cancer survivor. Mr. Hagstrom will also honour his wife Susan Wylie-Hagstrom in this house as well.
It truly takes a community to help our children with cancer and their families and we are so grateful to our community for all of the support.
Papa Ken’s House, is in honour of Mr. Ken Webb who was one of our early visionaries and advocates of the Kids with Cancer Society. Our dear friend said it the best, “we might not be able to take the cancer away from the child, but what we can do is make their journey a little easier.”
Thank you! We will keep you all up to date on the progress of this very exciting project.
