Brainworks
Chemotherapy and radiation used to treat the child very often causes cognitive learning difficulties. In an effort to ensure that these children have the same opportunities as their peers the "Brainworks" program was introduced. A neuropsychologist works with the children and their parents to determine if the child is experiencing learning difficulties due to the effects of treatment. This program also works with schools to educate them as to the child's needs and to work with the families to help them learn to cope with the changes and challenges.
